When you’re looking to let loose in Bucharest you have many great options. Your best bet for a night on the town is the Lipscani district—the old city.  It’s booming with new bars and restaurants, patios, cafes, clubs, and it’s within five minutes walk from several of our apartments. Lipscani, (just north of Piata Unirii), is kind of the jewel of the economic boom that came after Romania’s addition to the European Union. It’s always been the most beautiful and historic area in downtown, but now it’s bustling with people every night of the week, moving in and out of some really awesome restaurants, bars and cafes. You can also go looking for action nearby along the main boulevard between Piata Unirii, Piata Universitatea and Piata Romana.

Bars/Cafes

There’s definitely something for every kind of taste in terms of restaurants and late night hangouts in Bucharest. There’s also a ton of new music venues with everything from Jazz to club music, rock, to traditional gypsy music. There’s a great list of hotspots in Lipscani here. Bucharest, like all the major cities in Europe, has cafes and pubs lining all the broad boulevards in the city centre.

Clubs

This is definitely a clubbing city. Romanians love club music, and clubs here are often open all night. Most clubs won’t start getting busy until after 11pm and they’ll be open until the morning in many cases. Clubs like Fire and Club A will have super low prices on drinks—a beer will set you back about 1.5-2 Euros. At the higher end clubs you’re likely to pay more like 3-4 Euros for a beer…still not too shabby. Clubbing in Bucharest is affordable and tons of fun. The best part is going out is super convenient when staying in our Bucharest apartment rentals  as most of our locations are within walking distance from Lipscani and the Piatas that form the centre of all the major nightlife spots.

Casinos

You'll notice soon after you arrive on your vacation that Bucharest is one of the few cities in east-central Europe with gambling. Close to all our apartments in Bucharest you’ll find full on casinos but also tons of bars with betting tables, or slots. Casinos are a super popular attraction for people in Bucharest, both for locals and vacationers. Google “Casinos in Bucharest” and you’ll see just how many there are. Here’s the Casino Bucharest website. Have fun!
